Some Super Fun “FROZEN” Kids Play!
It’s been WAY too cold here to have any outdoor play lately. And my kids are pretty sensitive to the cold snow and ice, too. So I thought I’d set up a little INDOOR sensory “FROZEN” kids play invitation for them. And what better way than with some new Disney FROZEN toys and some pretend ice and snow?!
“FROZEN” Kids Play with Foil & Cotton
We were invited by Disney to go on a little FROZEN shopping spree at our local Walmart. (Yahoo!) So I let the kids stay warm at Mi-Mi’s and headed out to my local Walmart.
I had such a hard time deciding between all of the cute FROZEN merchandise. But I knew that the kids HAD to have that FROZEN Swirling Snow Sled! (When you pull it along, “snow” swirls up in the back like a snow globe – so cool!) And I picked up a few little FROZEN Magiclip Elsa and Anna Dolls, too, since my kids love small world play toys.
Since it was close to lunch time, I grabbed a Fresh Fit for Kids Meal from the Subway in Walmart on my way out. It was PERFECT since it was even FROZEN-themed and came in a cool reusable FROZEN bag. Priscilla’s newest “purse!”
When the kids were done eating, they found this fun FROZEN kids play set-up waiting for them in the living room. I added some sensory-rich cotton ball “snow” and tin foil and foil pan “ice” for them to get creative with. They were beyond excited!
The tin pans became the perfect ice rinks for Elsa and Anna.
And the tin foil unrolled across the room was a perfect icy runway for the Swirling Snow Sled!
We also had some tin foil “ice” boulders and sculptures going on, too.
And what FROZEN princess doesn’t need an icy cave to play in?
I love presenting the kids with interesting and unusual materials and seeing how they incorporate them into their play. The materials add a sensory element for them to explore and really enhances their imaginative play, too.
Have you seen the new Disney FROZEN movie yet? Priscilla LOVED it when she saw it in the theater with her Mi-Mi. And both kids loved the FROZEN toys and this “FROZEN” kids play invitation.
What creative kids play have your kids been up to this week? What unusual materials have they been using? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!
